LittleWoods Portfolio

A portfolio of 5 shops across the UK for community and creative uses

The Littlewoods portfolio consisted of buildings in Blackpool, Wigan, Cardiff, Bury St Edmunds, East Kilbride and Falkirk. The Shop Direct Group which owns Littlewoods shifted their business online as a response to challenging trading conditions in 2005. Many of the stores from their portfolio were taken on by Argos and Primark but many units remained empty whilst in some instances a number of years remained on the lease and no commercial let could be negotiated.

3Space worked with a number of charities and social enterprises to bring life back to these buildings including the MS Society, NW Baseline, Grassroots, the University of Glamorgan and Falkirk Delivers. Uses ranged from youth work and social inclusion to arts and culture.
